Run for National Unity 2017


Thursday 15th June, Petaling Jaya- HELP University and the Redberry Group will be organising the RUN for NATIONAL UNITY 2017 on Sept 16, 2017 in conjunction with Malaysia Day. The inaugural RUN was a success in 2016 and this year, it receives the support of the Department for National Unity and Integration. The tag line for this year is #Cintainegaraku.

Today the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, YB Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Joseph Kurup was the Guest of Honour at the Launch held in Redberry City.

The Run for National Unity 2017 will begin from 7.30am on Sept 16 from Padang Merbok in Kuala Lumpur.

The Run is being held not only to promote national unity and harmony but also to raise funds for deserving students to pursue their tertiary education.

All nett proceeds from the Run will be channeled to a scholarship fund for these students from all races.

The Run will be in held in 13 categories:

  • Men Open International (All Ages) – 10km
  • Women Open International (All Ages) – 10km
  • Men Open Malaysian (18 years – 39 years) – 10km
  • Women Open Malaysian (18 years – 39 years) – 10km
  • Men Open Veteran Malaysian (40 years and above) – 10km
  • Women Open Veteran Malaysian (40 years and above) – 10km
  • Primary School Boys (7 years – 12 years) – 5km
  • Primary School Girls (7 years – 12 years) – 5km
  • Secondary School Boys (13 years – 17 years – 7km
  • Secondary School Girls (13 years – 17 years) -7km
  • Family team – 5km
  • Corporate Team- 5km
  • Special/OKU- 5km

The Run will be conducted under the rules and regulations of the Malaysian Athletics Federations (MAF) while the technical support will be provided by the Federal Territory Amateur Athletic Association (FTKLAA).

All finishers will receive medals and certificates at the Finish Line.

Besides getting a T-shirt and goodie bag, participants also stand to win attractive lucky draw prizes.

There will also be plenty of entertainment and other activities at Padang Merbok after the Run, including stage performances.
